THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KARNALLIE (J Sampson) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey J Sampson reported that KARNALLIE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that VAR AGLOW did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) At approximately the 350m, KING OF THE DELTA (C Storey) and VAR AGLOW (M van Rensburg) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between PHINDA MZALA (W Kennedy) which rolled in and TOUCH OF FATE (M Yeni) which shifted out marginally off the heels of KINGS ROAD (*J Gates) to continue its run. The Board after reviewing this incident was satisfied that this was a racing incident and that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider. d) Leaving the 100m, VAR AGLOW (M van Rensburg) which shifted out away from the crop, had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of PHINDA MZALA (W Kennedy). e) TOUCH OF FATE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Binda advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) PHINDA MZALA and KINGS ROAD raced unshod (declared 11 December 2020 at 09H05). b) VAR AGLOW raced without blinkers (declared 12 December 2020 at 07H37). c) BLOW ME DOWN raced unshod (declared 12 December 2020 at 07H04). d) TOUCH OF FATE raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 8 December 2020 at 13H54). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) KARNALLIE abnormal respiratory noise and coughing. b) VAR AGLOW examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
