WINTER BLUES was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the performance of SACRED JOURNEY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Hewitson the rider of CONCEALED SECRET reported this gelding changing legs continuously in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Hewitson the rider of CONCEALED SECRET appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to his riding of this gelding. His post race report that his mount was outpaced and changing legs repeatedly in the early stages was noted by the Board after reviewing the patrol videos. Jockey Hewitson further explained that CONCEALED SECRET had raced awkwardly with a high head carriage resulting in him believing that there was something amiss with this gelding. This resulted in CONCEALED SECRET being detached from the field in the early stages. Jockey Hewitson stated that as the Race progressed, this gelding's action improved slightly and as the field began to tire, he had made up some ground in the latter stages when encouraged. Jockey Hewitson's explanations were noted. ROCKET FIRE raced with ear muffs. Vet: SACRED JOURNEY and CONCEALED SECRET - nothing obvious detected.
