MOSS GAS was hanging in from the 400m. In view of the performance from BOUTIQUE (IRE), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer Laird was requested to report back on the condition of BOUTIQUE (IRE) on return to stables. Jockey Lerena appeared before the Board and was afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which, in his opinion, may have contributed to the poor performance of BOUTIQUE (IRE). He explained to the Board that this filly had never traveled well at any time during the race and that BOUTIQUE (IRE) will benefit from this run after a break of 96 days. STARLIGHTTEMPTRESS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When afforded the opportunity to explain the improved performance of STARLIGHTTEMPTRESS, Assistant Trainer Cunnington explained to the Board that the change to a rubber bit had accounted for the improvement and has undertaken to race this filly with the same bit in future. Vet: BOUTIQUE (IRE) - examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
