CINNABON, WOLF KILLER, THE FINISHER and PURE QUALITY lost one length. FAVOUR lost two lengths. DONS ASSEMBLY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FAVOUR raced green. FAVOUR shifted out slightly near the 1100m. Thereafter PURE QUALITY shifted in slightly resulting in GALLAGHER clipping the heels of PURE QUALITY and stumbling. PURE QUALITY raced wide in the early stages. CINNABON raced wide in the early and middle stages. Apprentice Gates the rider of THE FINISHER reported that this gelding took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Moodley the rider of GALLAGHER reported that this gelding was not striding out freely in running. In view of the performance of JET STORM, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Fayd'Herbe the rider of DONS ASSEMBLY, used his crop more than 12 times in this race. In determining a penalty, the Board considered the manner in which he used his crop and his recent record. Trainer Kannemeyer was questioned regarding the improved performance of DONS ASSEMBLY compared to this gelding's previous run on 14 June 2019 at Greyville racecourse. He explained that this gelding had suffered interference in running which resulted in this gelding's previous poor performance. The Board noted his explanation and will review the previous run of DONS ASSEMBLY. Vet: JET STORM, THE FINISHER and PURE QUALITY - nothing obvious detected. GALLAGHER - coughing. Bleeding from mouth. Not striding out right fore.
