THE STARTER REPORTED : a) Fair start for all runners. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1000m, BOLD HORIZON (A Arries) and WAYWOOD (D Dillon) were momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of FIREVIEW (L Hewitson), which rolled in marginally. b) CELEBRATION ROCK (AUS) (*L Ferraris) was hanging out from the 300m. c) An inquiry will be opened in order to establish why STAR OF JOBURG (M Yeni) had to ease at the 200m. d) Jockey L Hewitson reported that FIREVIEW raced with its tongue over the bit. e) Jockey D Dillon reported that WAYWOOD took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Apprentice J Jacobs reported that he felt something amiss with KAYSON in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer P Muscutt was requested to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. (DA) g) The Board elected not to question Trainer L Goosen in respect of BOLD HORIZON's apparent poor performance in its last run on 01 November 2020. In arriving at this decision, the Board took into consideration that the run on 01 November 2020 was over 1600m and in a feature race where this gelding over-raced. In comparison, today's run was over a distance of 1200m where it was more settled and enjoyed a drop in class. h) BOLD HORIZON (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Goosen advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) BOLD HORIZON raced without a tongue tie (advised 11.12.2020/11h42). b) FIREVIEW raced with a compression mask (advised 13.12.2020/07h32). c) SO VAR raced with a cornell collar (advised 15.01.2018).
