CHANONE'S THEORY was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. CAFE CUBANO was slow away and lost 1 length. VICTORY MARCH was slow away and lost 2 lengths. In the concluding stages, VICTORY MARCH became unbalanced when bumped out and carried out by LUXEMBURG, which shifted out away from the 200m. A race review was called into this incident which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Rider of the second placed horse, Fortune, against the winner, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Objection Board upheld the objection. In arriving at its decision, the Objection Board considered that, the distance between the horses was 0.10 at the finish, VICTORY MARCH had run on strongly from behind LUXEMBURG and appeared to have garnered sufficient momentum to win the race. However, at the point where VICTORY MARCH would have taken the lead definitively, this colt was unbalanced and knocked off his stride by LUXEMBURG who was shifting out from the 200m. Accordingly, the Objection Board was satisfied that, but for the above incident VICTORY MARCH would have beaten LUXEMBURG. Consequently, the objection was upheld and the judge's result was amended to read 4X2X1X8X11. Jockey Fortune's deposit was refunded. An inquiry was opened into this incident. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning CHANONE'S THEORY, this colt was suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. VICTORY MARCH and LUXEMBURG were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LUXEMBURG raced equipped with a tongue tie. VICTORY MARCH raced equipped with alumites front on, unshod behind. Vet: CHANONE'S THEORY - bilateral epistaxis, 60 days confirmed. CAFE CUBANO - fatigue. Scratched: REYMUNDO and RULETTA - change of surface.
