CALIENTE was restless in the stalls. MIGHTY VALDIE lost 2 lengths. CALIENTE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Drier was questioned regarding the improved performance of CALIENTE, the winner compared to his gelding's previous performance on the 12th May 2019 at Scottsville Racecourse. Mr Drier could offer no explanation other than this gelding, in his opinion, is suited to racing on the Poly track. His explanation was noted and the Board has adjourned to review CALIENTE'S previous race. FINAL ATTEMPT was hanging out throughout. CHANGING SEASONS shifted in approaching the 800-meter mark. Thereafter FINAL ATTEMPT was switched out off the heels of CHANGING SEASONS inconveniencing VINSON. SEA URCHIN raced wide in the middle stages. Jockey Marcus the rider of SEA URCHIN reported this gelding not striding out freely in the closing stages and as a result did not persevere with this ride. In view of the performance of CHANGING SEASONS the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. SOVEREIGN SOLDIER was hanging in in THE PRIVATE, VINSON AND NOBLE JOSHUA raced fitted with ear-muffs. Vet: SEA URCHIN - nothing obvious detected. CHANGING SEASONS - coughing. AT THE OPERA - mouth injury.
