TAMBORA was slow into stride. The start of this race was rescheduled after the delay in Race 2. TAMBORA raced green, in view of the performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the colt on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Byleveld reported that this gelding did not act in the heavy underfoot conditions. Approaching the 100m SUPER LADY brushed the hindquarters of WADI RUM, became momentarily unbalanced and thereafter Jockey Ashby reported that SUPER LADY did not stride out freely. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. The Board reviewed the films of WADI RUM's previous run on 25 June 2019, over 1400m at Kenilworth Racecourse, and confirmed that after being drawn 12 out of 12, was unable to obtain cover, raced wide throughout and thereafter tired quickly in the straight. WADI RUM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WADI RUM raced without a tongue tie. SUPER LADY raced fitted with a full set of alumites. Vet: SUPER LADY - returned not striding out on the right fore. TAMBORA - returned blowing. Scratched: GOLDEN TIPPY - coughing. WHAT A PRINCE - lame right fore.
