FREEDOM TRAIL and PARAHELIO ALLEY were stubborn loading. RINYAMI was stubborn loading and slow into stride. FREEDOM TRAIL dropped the bit at the 1000m and commenced to give ground to the field. In view of this report, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Jockey Mxothwa appeared before the Board and was afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors which he believed contributed to the poor performance of CRADLEOFGRATITUDE. In this regard, he explained to the Board that, this horse had felt flat going down to the start, had not shown the same speed in the early part of the race as in his previous run and when asked for an effort had felt sluggish and had nothing to come in the finish. Consequently, Jockey Mxothwa reported that, this gelding was not striding out freely in the running. The Board noted the explanation of Jockey Mxothwa which was corroborated by the patrol films of the race. In view of this report, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. MTAKATYI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CRADLEOFGRATITUDE raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: CRADLEOFGRATITUDE - fatigued. FREEDOM TRAIL - nothing obvious detected.
