PROFOUND was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. BENEVOLENCE was nervous in the stalls, reared at the off, slow away and lost 2 lengths. ROCKS AND DAGGERS was slow away and lost 1 length. TIBETAN ROUGE over raced in the early stages. BENEVOLENCE sweated up badly in the parade ring. Thereafter, Apprentice Mphhanya, dropped his crop at the 300m. In view of the performance of this gelding, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. At the 150m ELUSIVE FOUNTAIN, which was hanging in from the 400m, was bumped out by ROCKS AND DAGGERS, which shifted out away from the crop. ELUSIVE FOUNTAIN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BENEVOLENCE - nothing obvious detected. IN THE NAVY - abnormal respiratory noise. TIBETAN ROUGE - blood in mouth.
