JIKA was stubborn loading. CLIFTON CRUSHER and FALCON ROCK were nervous in the stalls. Jockey Storey reported that SAO PAULO was not striding out freely in the running. At the 350m, SAO PAULO was baulked for a clear run whilst tracking LETS PLAY BALL, into the race. Thereafter, in the concluding stages DYNASTY'S BOY, was bumped out by SAO PAULO, which was carried out by LETS PLAY BALL, which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called into this incident which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Trainer of the second placed horse Strydom, against the winner on the grounds of interference at the 500m and the 100m. The Objection Board after considering the evidence in this matter and considering the distance of 0.75 between 1st and 2nd at the finish, could not be satisfied that, but for the above incident, SAO PAULO would have finished ahead of LETS PLAY BALL. Therefore, the objection was over- ruled and the Judges result was allowed to stand. An inquiry was opened into Jockey Maujean's crop use in this race. An inquiry will be opened in order to establish why READY SET GO, had to ease at the 900m. Trainer Bremner was requested to report back on the condition of CLIFTON CRUSHER, upon return to the stables. LETS PLAY BALL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SAO PAULO and DYNASTY'S BOY - speedy cut left hind. HIGH DEFINITION - cast right hind shoe.
