THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) LADY DEFIANCE (AUS) (G Lerena) and MASTER BOULDER (*J R Syster) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b) FOLLOW MY PATH (*P Mxoli) was slow losing one length.
c) IN THE GAME (M Yeni) stumbled leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Shortly after the start, ANATURA (C Murray) and SUPA MUFTI (D Schwarz) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between PRIVATE RULER (J Penny) and LADY DEFIANCE (AUS) (G Lerena) which jumped out.
b) Jockeys C Zackey (NUMBERNINETYNINE) and C Murray (ANATURA) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses.
c) Jockey G Lerena reported that LADY DEFIANCE (AUS) made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) At approximately the 300m, IN THE GAME (M Yeni) and STORMY WINTER (*G Pieterse) were carried out marginally by BIRDWATCHER (P Strydom) which rolled out.
e) STORMY WINTER (*G Pieterse), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (RH).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) ANATURA was ridden by Jockey C Murray (declared 15 December 2020 at 08H06).
b) STORMY WINTER was ridden by Apprentice G Pieterse who claimed 4kg allowance (declared 15 December 2020 at 08H20).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) LADY DEFIANCE (AUS) raced without alumites and equipped with steel shoes (14 December 2020 at 09H57).
b) LAINSBERG BLUE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 15 December 2020 at 08H12).
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) NUMBERNINETYNINE not striding out right hind.
b) ANATURA examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
c) LADY DEFIANCE (AUS) abnormal respiratory noise.
THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
