SUGAR GIRL lost 1 length. WHISKEY ROAD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Beets was questioned regarding the improved performance of WHISKEY ROAD. Mrs Beets explained to the Board that in this gelding's penultimate start on the 18th May 2019 the distance of 2200 meters had been too far. In his previous start on the 14th July WHISKEY ROAD had raced too freely when equipped with blinkers for the first time and as a result had compounded. This, in her opinion had accounted for the poor performance on those two occasions. The Board has adjourned to review WHISKEY ROAD's previous race on the 14th July 2019. SUGAR GIRL was hanging in over the final 300 metres. Jockey Randolph the rider of CROWN AND COUNTRY reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in the closing stages. Vet: CROWN AND COUNTRY - coughing. Scratched: BLACKBURN ROC - infection right fore.
