THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AMERICAN ROCKET (J Penny) and PAMUSHANA'S PRIDE (S Khumalo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CAPTAIN CUPID (A Domeyer) stumbled shortly after the start. c) ROYAL SIEGE (*J R Syster) and MISTER BLUE SKY (D Schwarz) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WHITE FANG (L Hewitson) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. b) At approximately the 300m, CASTLE CORNER (G Lerena) had to steady and switch in when awkwardly placed on the heels of MISTER BLUE SKY (D Schwarz) and JUST PHENOMENAL (M van Rensburg) which hung out from the 400m c) In the concluding stages, CAPTAIN CUPID (A Domeyer) was carried in marginally by CASTLE CORNER (G Lerena) which shifted in away from the crop. d) Jockey C Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with TRIBAL WARRIOR in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey C Storey reported that he felt something amiss with AFTER ME in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) PAMUSHANA'S PRIDE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
