The start of this Race was delayed due to the Veterinary Surgeon having to examine GABOR at the start. GABOR was kicked in the stalls, removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was declared fit to race. Thereafter this filly was re-loaded. SWEPT OFF MY FEET lost one length. GABOR and MILL QUEEN were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In a tightly bunched field JACK'S BIRD and KEEP SMILING became cramped for galloping room which resulted in GALLIC PRINCESS being squeezed out and SWEPT OFF MY FEET, clipping the heels of GALLIC PRINCESS and stumbling shortly after the start. SNOW PALACE was hanging in over the final 200 meters. GABOR returned post-race having cast the right hind shoe. Jockey Zackey the rider of COCKNEY PRIDE appeared before the Board with regard to the tactics adopted for the riding of this filly. He explained that COCKNEY PRIDE lacked gate speed and as such he opted to drop her in from the wide draw, expecting a strong pace. He further explained that with the absence of a strong pace he was caught at the rear of the field and was flat footed at the top of the straight with too much ground to make up in the straight.
