The start of this Race was delayed due to the withdrawal of AFRICAN APOLLO at the start. AFRICAN APOLLO reared in the stalls, dislodging the rider. Removed and checked by the Veterinary Surgeon, and was scratched. MYRRH lost one length. FAVOUR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the performances of THE FINISHER and MALAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. In view of the Starter's report with regard to AFRICAN APOLLO, this geldings starting stall certificate is withdrawn and was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable to load with a companion. AFRICAN APOLLO may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Vet: THE FINISHER - nothing obvious detected. MALAY - not striding out left hind. Scratched: AFRICAN APOLLO - injured in the starting stalls and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
