THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WAYNE stumbled leaving the stalls. b) DON'T CRY FOR ME was slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the 400m, BIRTHRIGHT was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between WAYNE and BRISTOL HERCULES, which rolled out. c) RADICCHIO was momentarily baulked for a clear run from the 150m to the 100m. d) In the concluding stages, ARTIST'S MODEL was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between TSAR BOMBA and SONIC JET, which rolled out. e) DIWALI ROCKET stumbled in the pull-up area, dislodging Apprentice A Mosaheb. Apprentice A Mosaheb was attended to by the course paramedics and transferred to the Course Medical Centre for further examination. f) Apprentice B Marx-Jacobson reported that FULLY LOADED made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he struck BRISTOL HERCULES more than two times on consecutive strides. Jockey C Murray signed an Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1000 was imposed. h) BRISTOL HERCULES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Mathew de Kock was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) QUICKFREEZE: Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 55,1kg, 1kg over the carded weight of which 0,5kg was declared. b) WAYNE: Jockey K de Melo weighed out at 55,2kg, 1kg over the carded weight of which 0,5kg was declared. c) BRISTOL HERCULES: Jockey C Murray weighed out at 54,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) FULLY LOADED coughing post-race. b) MASTERSHIP scalp wound right hind. c) SONIC JET brush wound left hind. Race 4 contd.
