THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WAIT FOR ME was reluctant to load.
b) LOOKING GOOD was nervous in the stalls.
c) FOCAL POINT was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates.
d) STONE OF SCONE was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
e) SALOON GIRL and NOBODY'S PERFECT jumped awkwardly and were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h20)
b) Permission was granted for STONE OF SCONE to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c) FOCAL POINT refused to parade. Trainer E Kaknis was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended.
d) NOBODY'S PERFECT was hanging out and shifted out away from the crop from approximately the 400m. Thereafter, this filly continuously hung out to the finish.
e) WAIT FOR ME shifted out away from the crop from the 250m and was corrected.
f) At the 150m, STONE OF SCONE, which shifted inwards, had to be steadied momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of FOCAL POINT, which shifted outwards.
g) Jockey C Little reported that FOCAL POINT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly.
h) Apprentice B Soodoo reported that SALOON GIRL coughed post-race. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly.
Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
i) In view of the performance of STONE OF SCONE (Betting 7/2; Distance 7.85 lengths), the Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly.
j) WAIT FOR ME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)

a) STONE OF SCONE - examined post-race. Not striding out left hind.
b) FOCAL POINT - examined post-race. Fatigued.
c) SALOON GIRL - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected.
d) WAIT FOR ME - cut into left hind & spread shoe.
