THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MASTEROFTHEBAROQUE was nervous in the stalls. b) MAKAJIMA was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. c) PRETTY BOY, GOOD SHINE and THE JUDGE were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h00) b) Permission was granted for TURBULENT to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) Apprentice BA Makhubo (AETHELWULF) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) PRETTY BOY and THE JUDGE over raced in the early and middle stages. e) At the 200m, TURBULENT had to be steadied momentarily when carried outwards by REDLIGHT LANE, which shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. Thereafter, at approximately the 150m, TURBULENT had to be steadied again when REDLIGHT LANE continued to shift out away from the crop, without correction. Jockey T Godden was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of REDLIGHT LANE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TURBULENT at the 200m and at the 150m. Jockey T Godden signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 23/06/2026 to 29/06/2026, both dates inclusive.) f) MAKAJIMA had to be directed inwards to obtain clear running between the 300m and the 200m. g) PALME D'OR shifted out continuously away from the crop from the 300m to the finish. h) HALF MOON ISLAND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
