The start of this Race was delayed due to a technical issue with the camera feeds to the Boardroom. Thereafter, during the loading process ANUSHKA became restless, kicked and caught its back legs up in the adjacent stall. ANUSHKA was attended to by the Veterinarian and stalls personnel and was subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinarian. This caused a significant delay to the start of this Race.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) BETTER NEVER ENDS lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) :
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded.
b) A race review into the concluding stages was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board. After viewing the video footage from all available angles, no further action was taken.
c) An Inquiry will be opened to establish why AMC ROY'S FANTASY (A Fortune) suffered interference at the 150m, and THYME TO TALK (R A Venniker) suffered interference in the concluding stages.
d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ANUSHKA, this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn, and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 21.06.2026 to the 27.06.2026). ANUSHKA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G B Puller was advised.
e) BETTER NEVER ENDS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S S Ngcobo was advised (DZ).
