En route to the start DANTONFROMSANDTON lifted the left front shoe which was attended to by the Course Farrier at the start. This gelding was examined by the Veterinarian and passed fit to race. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOLDIER'S EYE and GOLDEN OPERATOR were stubborn to load. b) AMELIA'S LEGACY and GOLDEN OPERATOR lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels after MR HOTSTEPPER passed following a second test. b) WILD AT WAR did not parade in front of the grandstand. Trainers C/T Dawson will be advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. c) Approaching the 600m PALACE PRINCE was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of MR HOTSTEPPER. d) Shortly after entering the straight DANTONFROMSANDTON was directed to the inside of WILD AT WAR to continue its run. Simultaneously, PALACE PRINCE was directed to the inside of DANTONFROMSANDTON to continue its run. e) Jockey C Little (MR HOTSTEPPER) did not persevere with his riding in the straight. Thereafter, Jockey C Little reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this gelding is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. f) Jockey S Moodley reported that he felt something amiss in the running with AMELIA'S LEGACY. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. g) GO GRAYSON GO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Greyling was advised (DZ). h) DANTONFROMSANDTON, placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry was advised (SP).
