The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COWDRAY PARK was stubborn to load. b) FROSTBITE and SPACE MISSION lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) LUCKY DOLLAR was bumped on a number of occasions between COWDRAY PARK, which jumped outwards, and MISSISSIPPI SPICE, which jumped inwards, leaving the stalls. c) Passing the 1200m, COWDRAY PARK commenced to race wide and in isolation, close to the outside running rail. In view of COWDRAY PARK's demonstrated history regarding racing wide around the turn and being unable to be assisted, the Board, acting in terms of Rule 93.2.4, has suspended this gelding until such time as it proves tractable galloping with a companion, on a race day, to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Trainer M L Roberts will be advised. d) In view of the performance of WAR EMPEROR (4.50 lengths and 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that as the rider of RUN TO RIO, he misused his crop by striking this gelding more than 10 times (12) in the entire race. Jockey Veale signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1800. f) SPACE MISSION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey R Fourie was the rider of SPACE MISSION (advised 19.06.2026/12h22). b) Jockey C Zackey was the rider of THE GLIDING FISH (advised 20.06.2026/15h16).
