THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUGAR MOUNTAIN was re-saddled at the start. b) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GALLIC DREAM recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AE Sands was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. (15h01) b) BEWARE THE BOMB proved difficult to settle and raced in advance of the field in the early stages. c) At the 700m CHASINGTHERAINBOW was brushed on the hindquarter by BEWARE THE BOMB, which was hanging out on the turn and shifted out. d) Jockey R Fourie briefly dropped his right-side rein at the 200m.
