THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ETERNAL SPIRIT and NEW DAY were stubborn loading. b) SKIP THE LINE kicked the back gates in the starting stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. c) AMERICAN PETAL jumped inwards. d) PROSPER'S GIRL was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h40) b) KITANA'S JOY and AMERICAN PETAL, which jumped awkwardly inwards, came together and bumped shortly after the start. c) TP THUNDERCHILD over raced in the early and middle stages. d) NEW DAY was hanging in from the 400m and was corrected at the 100m. e) PROSPER'S GIRL raced green. f) AMERICAN PETAL returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis). Trainer SB Kotzen was advised. g) NEW DAY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
