THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AM STILL WINNING jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) MATTER OF TRUST jumped outwards. c) MADE TO MEASURE jumped inwards and was slow into stride. d) CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h31) b) Shortly after the start, MATTER OF TRUST, which jumped outwards, made slight contact with MADE TO MEASURE, which jumped inwards. c) AM STILL WINNING was slow into stride, failed to muster speed, raced detached from the field throughout and was not persevered with in the straight. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. d) LYRICS AND SONGS shifted out away from the crop at the 300m. e) Trainer E Kaknis was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.1.2 in that he failed to ensure that CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE was presented in the security area at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the fourth (4th) race. Trainer E Kaknis signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000,00. f) FLEUR DE VILLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
