THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHAMPION WARRIOR was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h29) b) CHAMPION WARRIOR over raced in the early and middle stages. c) Jockey C Little did not persevere with his riding of BRENDEN JAMES from the 700m and eased this gelding out of the race at the 400m and dismounted. BRENDEN JAMES was attended to on course by the Veterinarian. d) LANCIAFIAMME shied away from ZATARA MAGIC at approximately the 400m and thereafter, shifted out away from the crop from the 250m. e) MR FOX returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis). Trainer AC Greeff was advised. f) Trainer DG Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented CHAMPION WARRIOR incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer DG Smith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250.00. g) ZINOVI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) h) ZATARA MAGIC, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) BRENDEN JAMES - lame right front. Rule 49.7 applies. A veterinary certificate is required prior to acceptance. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (Dr K Davis) b) MR FOX - bilateral epistaxis. Suspended 60 days. Rule 93.1 applied. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
