THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BAHAMIAN BEAT fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing one length. b) CHEERFUL CHARLIE B, PARDON ME and BLACK PATH were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h00) b) BLACK PATH over raced in the early and middle stages. c) Jockey R Fourie did not persevere with his riding of BAHAMIAN BEAT from the 250m and eased this gelding out of the race shortly before the finish. Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie reported that this gelding compounded badly in the straight. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) IM THE BUZZ was hanging in from the 200m. e) ACTION AMERICA shifted out away from the crop from the 200m and was corrected shortly before the finish. f) Jockey Y Ramzan reported that the saddle on BLACK PATH slipped sideways in running. g) ACTION AMERICA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) BAHAMIAN BEAT - examined post-race. Not striding out right hind & blowing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
