THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h52) b) MYSTIC INFERNO was hanging out on the turn. c) At the 400m, SHEZARIPPER was directed inwards away from the heels of BLACK NIGHTSHADE. d) Leaving the 50m, MYSTIC INFERNO had to be checked and lost momentum when GRAPES OF WRATH, which raced green, shifted in and was not straightened timeously. Thereafter, GRAPES OF WRATH continued to shift in, which resulted in CHINWAG having to be steadied at the finish. Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of GRAPES OF WRATH, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to MYSTIC INFERNO leaving the 50m. Jockey A Domeyer signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 28/06/2026 to 05/07/2026, excluding 04/07/2026 in terms of Rule 91.4.2) e) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with ENTICEMENT. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. f) GRAPES OF WRATH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass was advised.
