THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UNCLE SAM and CATWALK KING were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h27) b) KALAHARI KING kicked the advertising boards in the parade ring. This colt was examined on his arrival at the start and passed suitable to race. c) In view of the performance of KALAHARI KING, which raced with an awkward head carriage and proved difficult to settle in the early stages, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this colt. d) In view of the performance of IT'SGOOD IT'SNICE, which proved difficult to settle in the early stages and as a consequence, raced wide without cover on the turn, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this colt. e) At the 400m MAGMA FLOW rolled in and was brushed on the hindquarters by HERO'S JOURNEY. f) In view of the performance of CATWALK KING, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. g) AQUAE CALIDAE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
