The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous Race.
During the loading process (12:59:52), ANYTHING BUT LOVE reared over and dislodged Jockey M Thackeray and cantered back to the parade ring. This filly was taken in hand, examined by the Course Veterinarian, declared fit to race, was despatched to the Start, re-united with the rider and when attempted to be re-loaded, this filly reared over on the inside running rail and was subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinarian. This caused a further delay to the start of this Race.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ANYTHING BUT LOVE refused to load and reared over dislodging Jockey M Thackeray. Withdrawn by the Veterinarian.
b) LEGAL TANGO and LAGERTHA THE QUEEN were stubborn to load.
c) BLENHEIM PALACE and LILBITOFMONICA lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) :
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded.
b) MARGAUX failed to parade in front of the grandstand. Trainer F Greyling will be advised that should this filly behave similarly in future it may be suspended.
c) SARSDEN SURPRISE over-raced in the early stages.
d) LAGERTHA THE QUEEN over-raced in the early stages and proved difficult to assist.
e) Approaching the 1300m, BAI YULU, INDIGNATION, LEGAL TANGO were carried out by RED HOT MISS which rolled out. As a consequence, PACIFIC MOOD was inconvenienced on the outside, on the heels of LAGERTHA THE QUEEN, which was steadied out away from the heels of LEGAL TANGO.
f) MARGAUX hung in from the 500m.
g) In view of ANYTHING BUT LOVE rearing over and proving very difficult to load, the Board acting in terms of Rule 93.2.4, has suspended this filly indefinitely until such time it proves tractable to load and jump on terms with a companion on a race day. Trainer A Wright will be advised.
h) RED HOT MISS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Moore was advised (MM).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) RED HOT MISS was ridden by Jockey S Veale.
THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED :
a) No report.
SCRATCHINGS :
a) ANYTHING BUT LOVE : Reared over on the inside running rail and was injured. Withdrawn by the Veterinarian at 13h06 and the betting was 25/2. Rule 53.5 applies.
