THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IRISH PEARL (S Moodley) lost 1 length. b) ASSISTED TAKE OFF (*K Brewer) refused to jump and lost many lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Trainer K Naidoo (IRISH PEARL) and Assistant Trainer M Trott acting on behalf of Trainer S J Snaith (LONG REIGN) will be advised that their runners failed to adequately parade and that should these horses behave similarly in future, they may be suspended. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ASSISTED TAKE OFF (*K Brewer), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 19.12.20 to the 25.12.20. ASSISTED TAKE OFF may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer J V Rugg was advised. (SL) c) At the 1400m, LASATA (S Randolph) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of COLOUR MY FATE (A Marcus) which rolled in. d) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why A WHOLE NEW WORLD (A Arries) suffered interference between the 350m and 250m. e) Approaching the 200m, IRISH PEARL (S Moodley) shifted out away from the crop. f) THE BAYOU (*J Jacobs) was hanging in from the 400m. g) GREEK SWORD (*T Gumede) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. h) ARTIC TUNE (W Agrella), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
