THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, BLUE PALACE was fractious and stubborn, which resulted in the bridle having to be re-fitted, causing a delay. Thereafter, this filly was fractious in the stalls, threw her head down and fly- jumped leaving the stalls. b) KAMAKAZI was stubborn loading and restless in the stalls. c) WHIRLYBIRD jumped slow, losing one length. d) LAYDELAY was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h53) b) Permission was granted for KILMONIVAIG and WHIRLYBIRD to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) The Stewards reviewed the start with regards to BLUE PALACE in stall gate 5 and established that any loss of ground was as a result of its own behaviour and took no further action. In view of the report from the Starter regarding BLUE PALACE, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 30 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load and stand on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 02/07/2026 to 31/07/2026, both dates inclusive). BLUE PALACE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer M Sobethwa, acting on behalf of Trainer SB Kotzen, was advised. d) Jockey C Little (ENDEARED) accidentally dropped his crop at the 150m. e) WHITE WATERS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) WHIRLYBIRD - brush wound left hind. b) KILMONIVAIG - abnormal respiratory noise. c) ICE CAP - coughing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
