THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CLAIRWOOD BREEZE was stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer F P Habib was advised (GT). b) EVENING NEWS and CLAIRWOOD BREEZE were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) COVER CHARGE hung out in the concluding stages. c) In view of the performance of COMIC ARTIST, (distance 13,60 lengths, betting 25/2), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CLAIRWOOD BREEZE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 3 July to 9 July 2026. CLAIRWOOD BREEZE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F P Habib was advised. e) COVER CHARGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) COVER CHARGE was ridden by Jockey K Matsunyane (declared 2 July 2026 at 12H50). Jockey C Murray was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on COVER CHARGE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer C Spies, thereby necessitating a change of Rider.
