THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHERRY OH BABY rushed the front gates of the stalls, was taken out, examined by the Veterinarian and passed suitable to race, causing a delay. During this incident, BABETTE'S FEAST became unsettled in the stalls, hit the front gates, was taken out, examined by the Veterinarian and passed suitable to race, causing a further delay. b) OBSIDIAN STAR was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. c) MOUNTAIN HIGH stood in the stalls as the start was effected and refused to jump. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h14) b) Permission was granted for OBSIDIAN STAR to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) OBSIDIAN STAR and MORFELIHA over raced in the early and middle stages. d) OBSIDIAN STAR was hanging in from the 200m. e) Jockey C Maujean (OBSIDIAN STAR) accidentally dropped his crop at the 50m. f) Apprentice B Soodoo reported that YOU'RE SO SPECIAL did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. Stable Employee GW Paddock, acting on behalf of Trainer K Mitchley, was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding OBSIDIAN STAR, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 04/07/2026 to 10/07/2026, both dates inclusive). OBSIDIAN STAR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Assistant Trainer M Sobethwa, acting on behalf of Trainer SB Kotzen, was advised. h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MOUNTAIN HIGH, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion.
