THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) Fair start for al runners.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) From the 400m, DRUNKEN SAILOR (M Yeni) was continually carried in by ROCK THE NIGHT (A Arries) which rolled in between the 400m and the 200m and thereafter, at the 200m, when Jockey M Yeni attempted to straighten this gelding, it was brushed in by ROCK THE NIGHT (A Arries) which was hanging in from the 200m to the finish. A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Rider (M Yeni) of the fifth placed horse (DRUNKEN SAILOR) against the fourth placed horse (ROCK THE NIGHT) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board upheld the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board took into consideration the distance over which DRUNKEN SAILOR (M Yeni) was carried in, that DRUNKEN SAILOR (M Yeni) was finishing its race off strongly, and the official distance between these two horses at the finish, which was 0.05 lengths. Consequently, the Board was satisfied that but for the above incident, DRUNKEN SAILOR (M Yeni) would have finished ahead of ROCK THE NIGHT (A Arries), therefore it upheld the objection and amended the Judge's result. Jockey Yeni's deposit was refunded.
b) At the 200m, CHATTERTONS KEEPER (*J Jacobs) was bumped in on 2 occasions by TREAD SWIFTLY (D Dillon) which shifted in away from the crop briefly. A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Rider (*J Jacobs) of the second placed horse (CHATTERTONS KEEPER) against the winner (TREAD SWIFTLY) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board over-ruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board took into consideration that TREAD SWIFTLY (D Dillon) had run on from behind ROCK THE NIGHT (A Arries), at the point of contact, CHATTERTONS KEEPER (*J Jacobs) had made a marginal move out and in particular, from reviewing the side on angle, it appeared that TREAD SWIFTLY (D Dillon) was not just holding CHATTERTONS KEEPER (*J Jacobs) at the finish but rather moving away from it. Consequently, the Board could not be satisfied that but for the above incident, CHATTERTONS KEEPER (*J Jacobs) would have finished ahead of TREAD SWIFTLY (D Dillon), therefore it over-ruled the objection and allowed the Judge's result stand. Apprentice J Jacobs' deposit was refunded.
c) TREAD SWIFTLY (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Muscutt advised (SC).
d) CHATTERTONS KEEPER (*J Jacobs), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (DA).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) INTO THE FUTURE raced with a compression mask (advised 15.12.20/08h03).
b) EUPHORIC raced without blinkers (advised 18.12.20/07h55).
c) ANTIGONUS was ridden by Jockey G Wright. Reserve runner (advised 17.12.20/08h30).
