THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DAS GUTE fly-jumped leaving the stalls and lost one length. b) GUY GIBSON jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h17) b) JOKER MAN had to be switched inwards to obtain clear running at the 250m. c) STARS IN HEAVEN was hanging in from the 250m. d) Leaving the 100m, DAS GUTE, which shifted slightly inwards away from the crop, made heavy contact with GUY GIBSON, which shifted outwards away from the crop from the 300m, without correction. A Stipendiary Steward called for a race review with regards to this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Jockey JR Syster on the grounds of interference and bumping in the latter stages. The Objection Board, after hearing the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol films and considering the margin of 0,25 of a length between the two horses concerned, was satisfied that DAS GUTE would not have finished ahead of GUY GIBSON had this incident not occurred and therefore overruled the Objection. Jockey JR Syster's deposit was refunded. Jockey MK Katjedi was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of GUY GIBSON, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DAS GUTE leaving the 100m. Jockey MK Katjedi signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days. (Dates: 10/07/2026 to 16/07/2026, both dates inclusive). e) Jockey K Strydom was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline B on the use of the crop) in that he struck BLACK EGRET with his crop arm above shoulder height. Jockey K Strydom signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R3 000,00. In considering penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey K Strydom's record with regard to contraventions of this Rule and the reprimand given to him on 19/06/2026. f) GUY GIBSON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana, acting on behalf of Trainer AC Greeff, was advised. (LM) FURTHER JOCKEY CHANGES/EQUIPMENT CHANGES/OTHER: a) NELSON BAY (C Maujean) raced in Racing Operator's colours - Stewards' permission. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) FIREALLEY - coughing.
