En route to the start SECRETARY BIRD cast the left front shoe which was replaced by the course Farrier at the start. This filly was examined by the Veterinarian and passed fit to race. Simultaneously, the tongue tie fitted to ST HARRY (AUS) had to be replaced. These incidents led to a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ST HARRY (AUS) was stubborn to load. b) THE CULLINAN, RIFF RAFF BOY, RED SPICE and GREEN ENERGY lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start SECRETARY BIRD and BISOU BISOU were hampered on the outside of NIGHTSHINE, which jumped sharply outwards leaving the starting stalls. Thereafter, BISOU BISOU commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages. c) KAZENOYONI hung out between the 400m and the 150m. d) STEAMY WINDOWS hung in from the 350m. e) PRAYERSANDPROMISES hung in from the 300m. f) The Board has adjourned to review Jockey S Veale's (VIBE CHECK) crop use in this race. g) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss in the running with THE CULLINAN.
