THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the parade, AVIGNON dislodged Jockey B Plaatjies without incident. AVIGNON cantered a short distance back to the parade ring, was taken in hand, examined by the Veterinarian and passed suitable to race. b) PRINCE OF TIBET and ONE MAGIC were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h30) b) In view of the performance of RUN FOR COVER, which was hanging out from the 200m, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. c) Shortly before the finish, OZARK was steadied when racing tight between COMMANDING and ONE MAGIC. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that ONE MAGIC, which shifted both ways away from the crop in the straight, did not stride out freely in running and he hesitated with his riding at the 100m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey further reported that this colt made an abnormal respiratory noise. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this colt. e) LOVERS LANE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Reeves was advised. (ZM) JOCKEY CHANGES: a) G Wright rode OZARK. (declared 11h54 on 20260707) b) *EJ Muller rode TYPICALLY FRENCH. (declared 15h30 on 20260707) (Apprentice V Jodhee stood down by the Medical Officer. Rule 25.12 applied). THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) RUN FOR COVER - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) ONE MAGIC - examined post-race. Blowing. Assistant Trainer C Snaith was advised to report back should he find anything further amiss with this colt on his return to the stables. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
