THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KITANA'S JOY, REMIND ME OF YOU and SILVER ARROW were stubborn loading. b) BOLD TIGRESS was stubborn loading and jumped inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h19) b) In view of the performance of BOLD TIGRESS, which was not persevered with from the 300m, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. In view of the performance of BOLD TIGRESS, the Stewards have suspended this filly for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. Trainer E Kaknis was advised. Trainer E Kaknis was further advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. c) HOWZIT BEAUT raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. d) In view of the performance of HOWZIT BEAUT, which was not persevered with from the 200m, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey JP van der Merwe was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking NOBODY'S PERFECT more than 10 times (11) in the race. Jockey JP van der Merwe signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 800,00. f) BLAZING FLAME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith was advised. (LM) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) BOLD TIGRESS - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. b) HOWZIT BEAUT - examined post-race. Not striding out.
