THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SLASH 'N BURN (IRE) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h03) b) Permission was granted for ALWAYS SHINING to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) DIABLO had to be steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of BOURNE SUPREMACY, when bumped inwards by CHOCOLATE BOMB shortly after the start. d) BOURNE SUPREMACY shifted outwards from the 300m. Thereafter, this gelding shifted further outwards away from the crop from the 150m and was corrected shortly before the finish. e) In view of the performance of SLASH 'N BURN (IRE) (Betting 18/10; Distance 5.00 lengths), which was not persevered with from the 150m, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of MASKED VIGILANTE, the Veterinarian was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. g) COASTAL PATH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
