THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISSISSIPPI BURNING (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) When interviewed regarding the performance of MISSISSIPPI BURNING, Jockey C Zackey told the Stewards that he had ridden the filly from off the pace which is her normal racing pattern. The filly had settled well. However, when he shifted her to the middle of the course for a clear run, the filly did not respond to his riding and was very disappointing. In view of the performance of MISSISSIPPI BURNING (Betting 22/10 : Distance 15.10) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. b) SILVANO'S PRIDE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (BM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MISSISSIPPI BURNING - nothing obvious detected. Trainer AN Marcus was requested to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. SCRATCHED: a) DRIVING MISS DAISY - trapped facial nerve.
