THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RUMBO RUSSI reared in the stalls. b) COSMIC DAN was restless in the stalls and slow into stride. c) GIMME MORE APACHE fly-jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h59) b) Shortly after the start, the saddle on GIMME MORE APACHE slipped forward. As a consequence, this gelding raced very wide on the turn and Apprentice G Samo-Burthia was unable to assist his mount in the straight. c) At the 200m, FRACTAL shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. d) At the 150m, LE CONCIERGE, which initially rolled in, was bumped outwards by LE TISSIER. e) When questioned regarding his decision to dismount COSMIC DAN in the stalls, Apprentice EJ Muller explained to the Board that when this gelding had become restless, he had cramped in his left leg, which he managed to stretch out without assistance. Thereafter, Apprentice EJ Muller remounted COSMIC DAN. While the Stewards accepted Apprentice EJ Muller's explanation, which he reported to the Stewards on his return, he was advised that should he experience any difficulty in the stalls, he needs to immediately alert the Starter. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding RUMBO RUSSI, Trainer M Rix was advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. g) BORN OF FIRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Woolard, acting on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen, was advised. (SC) JOCKEY CHANGES: a) Nil THE VETERINARIAN HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
