A DISCREPANCY RELATING TO THE SADDLES OF A BIT OF CLASS AND ONETWOBUCKLEMYSHOE WAS IDENTIFIED IN THE PARADE RING. AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE, JOCKEY K STRYDOM (A BIT OF CLASS) AND JOCKEY M YENI (ONETWOBUCKLEMYSHOE) WERE REQUESTED TO REWEIGH BEFORE BEING DISPATCHED TO THE START. THEREAFTER, A BIT OF CLASS PROVED STUBBORN TO LOAD. THESE CIRCUMSTANCES RESULTED IN A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) A BIT OF CLASS was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the left-side front gate.
b) ONETWOBUCKLEMYSHOE jumped inwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the right-side front gate.
c) STREISAND jumped outwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the left-side front gate.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b) A BIT OF CLASS and ONETWOBUCKLEMYSHOE over-raced in the early stages.
