THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KISS OF FIRE was slow, losing two lengths. b) NUCLEAR FORCE was slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Approaching the first turn, KISS OF FIRE commenced to over-race and was steadied off the heels of STOP THE TRAFFIC. As a consequence, FULL GO was carried outwards. c) At approximately the 1800m, Jockey K J Lihaba (DJ JUNIOR) made an adjustment to his left-side stirrup iron. d) In view of the performance of EUPHRATES, (distance 11,25 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) NUCLEAR FORCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer D Mulligan, acting on behalf of Trainer E Verdonese, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DJ JUNIOR was ridden by Jockey K J Lihaba (declared 14 July 2026 at 18H07). THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) EUPHRATES not striding out right hind. b) KISS OF FIRE lame left front; mild post-race distress; spread its left front shoe in running.
