THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WILD FIG was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride.
b) GINGER DELIGHT jumped outwards.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h37)
b) Permission was granted for ROLL OF THE DICE to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c) TRIP TO PEACE was carried slightly outwards by JOHNNY DRAMA, which shifted outwards shortly after the start.
d) WILD FIG over raced in the early and middle stages.
e) Jockey C Habib did not persevere with his riding of TRIP TO PEACE from the 300m and thereafter, reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
f) HELIOTROPE was directed outwards to obtain clear running at the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey directed this mare further outwards to avoid running onto the heels of RICHARDTHEFEARLESS.
g) Jockey C Maujean did not persevere with his riding of GINGER DELIGHT from the 150m and thereafter, reported that this filly took no interest in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
h) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on WILD FIG. Jockey R Fourie signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
i) WILD FIG, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (SP)

THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED:
a) TRIP TO PEACE - examined post-race. Not striding out left hind & coughing.
b) GINGER DELIGHT - examined post-race. Abrasions on all four legs.
