THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GUY GIBSON and SILVONIAN were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h43) b) Permission was granted for GOLDEN PAVILION to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) At the 900m, GUY GIBSON was awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and FIREALLEY, which shifted inwards. d) SILVONIAN was hanging in from the 400m. e) FAIRY KNIGHT shifted out away from the crop at the 300m. f) GUY GIBSON, which was coming to the end of its run, had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and FIREALLEY, which shifted inwards at approximately the 100m. Apprentice BA Makhubo (FIREALLEY) appeared before the Board and was advised that he had allowed his mounts to shift in on two separate occasions, at the 900m and again at the 100m. He was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. g) MERCANTOUR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (SP) THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) SILVONIAN - abnormal respiratory noise. b) NELSON BAY - scalp wound right hind. SCRATCHED: a) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD - Stewards' permission. This gelding is carded to race in a Listed race at Hollywoodbets Greyville on 26/07/2026.
