THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPARROW MAN lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly after the start, OMKHULU BOSS was bumped by ODE TO THE SEA which jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. c) STEAMY WINDOWS hung in from the 250m. d) Shortly before the finish, SPARROW MAN was brushed in by BULLET CATCH which raced green and commenced to hang in from the 150m. e) Jockey S Moodley was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of TOMMY GREANEY, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (14) in the entire race. Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt and was fined R8000. f) Jockey S Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of SPARROW MAN, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (14) in the entire race. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt and was fined R8000 and suspended for a period of 7 days.
