THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TICKEY BOX and OLD HARRY ROCKS were stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the starting stalls, TICKEY BOX and NIGHTMAREONELMST came together and bumped. c) Leaving the starting stalls, HADRIAN'S WALL was bumped in by BAI YULU which jumped inwards sharply. Thereafter, HADRIAN'S WALL commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages with its head up, proving difficult to settle. d) LEVITATOR over-raced in the early and middle stages. e) In the concluding stages, OLD HARRY ROCKS which hung in from the 350m, was brushed and thereafter was carried out by SKIPPER ZIP which shifted out away from the crop. f) The saddle on NIGHTMAREONELMST slipped back in the running. g) In view of the performances of HADRIAN'S WALL (9.90 lengths, 9/2 in the betting) and LEVITATOR (10.80 lengths, 33/1 in the betting) the Veterinarian was requested to examine. h) Apprentice Q Ngcobo (PRINCE OF RABADA) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. i) Jockey N Patel was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of THE FLAT CAT, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than ten times (12) in the entire race. Jockey N Patel signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1800. j) TICKEY BOX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey K de Melo (NIGHTMAREONELMST) weighed out at 57.3kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. b) Jockey T Godden (LEVITATOR) weighed out at 54.7kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) HADRIAN'S WALL : Not striding out. b) LEVITATOR : Nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHINGS : a) KING BUD : Abscess left front (Trainer - 18.07.2026/06h15).
