THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Leaving the starting stalls PREDATOR'S CROWN was brushed in by CHOCTAW RIDGE, which jumped inwards. As a result, PREDATOR'S CROWN was steadied when close to the heels of CARTEL QUEEN. Thereafter, PREDATOR'S CROWN commenced to hang in throughout. c) Approaching the 400m SPARROW HAWK, which raced green was steadied when close to the heels of CARTEL QUEEN, which rolled out away from the heels of PREDATOR'S CROWN, which rolled in. d) Apprentice Q Ngcobo reported that CARTEL QUEEN took a number of awkward strides in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) SIERRA FOXTROT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen was advised (MM). THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED : a) CARTEL QUEEN : Nothing obvious detected. b) SURREAL SONG : Coughing. SCRATCHINGS : a) APACHE BLESSING : Nasal discharge (Trainer - 21.07.2026/10h26). Rule 53.5 applies. Veterinary Certificate received (Dr E Schonken). Suitable for reinstatement. b) MKHULU'S GIRL : Injured in transit (withdrawn by the Veterinarian at 11h10). Rule 53.5 applies.
