During the loading process LACRYMA CHRISTI became restless and reared in the starting stalls. This filly was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinarian and subsequently withdrawn. This led to a delay to the start of this race.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WILDE OSCAR was stubborn to load.
b) LACRYMA CHRISTI was restless in the stalls. Released, examined by the Veterinarian and withdrawn.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) :
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded.
b) WILDE OSCAR and KAZ FROM ALCATRAZ over raced in the early stages.
c) At the 700m, APACHE AG which rolled out, was brushed in by CHAOS QUEEN.
d) Jockey C Zackey reported that BLACK PLATINA did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
e) Jockey R A Venniker reported that she felt something amiss with WILDE OSCAR in the running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine.
f) In view of the Veterinarian's report concerning WILDE OSCAR, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. (Suspended 23.07.2026 - 20.09.2026 bdi). Trainer D I Campbell was advised.
g) In view of the Starter's report with regard to LACRYMA CHRISTI, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable with a companion (Suspension dates: 23.07.2026 to the 29.07.2026 bdi). LACRYMA CHRISTI may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer Y Singh will be advised.
h) Apprentice P Porffy (APACHE AG) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride.
i) TAKETHEGREENLIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen was advised (DZ).
THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED :
a) BLACK PLATINA : Lame left front. Suspended pending Veterinary Certificate.
b) WILDE OSCAR : Epistaxis. 60 days suspension.
SCRATCHINGS :
a) LACRYMA CHRISTI : Injured in the starting stalls (withdrawn by the Veterinarian at 14h20, 33/1 in the betting). Rule 53.5 applies.
